My 8 week challenge journey started with adversity. On the day I signed up I caught the flu which prevented me to work out properly for the first four weeks. Later on, I noticed that even with as much effort as i put in to better my workouts at the gym my weight didn't not go down. I then realized that it probably was because I did not change my eating habits. Although I was taking my supplements, (in the morning I'd take probiotics and repair, half an hour before every workout I'd have super greens with a complete burn, after my workout I will have a MRP with two vitamins, and for lunch and dinner I would have my digestion enzymes and two vitamins) I was advised to eat healthier and to count my calorie intake. I made the change, and I experienced a drastic improvement. My new diet includes no sugar, lots of veggies, fish, chicken and lots of fruits. My real challenge was to eliminate my cultural delicacies that I've enjoyed for the past 52 years. That is, having my coffee with sweet bread every morning and evening or accompany my lunch and dinner with tortillas or french rolls. So I had to cut carbs drastically. The result up to date, March 8, 2013, is that I've lost 10 pounds in the last four weeks. I am very happy with the results I am getting and the discipline that it took to get there has been an experience never before lived. Towards the end, the biggest challenge was more mental conversations encouraging me to quit. I believe the biggest transcendental benefit of these 8 weeks has been the commitment to stay on track and finish regardless of the results. My goal was to weigh 160lbs but I did not reach it. Although my weight did not reflect it, I lost 2 inches around my waist and I look thinner than when I started. My second goal was to inspire friends and family to take a turn towards a healthier life, and i now have two friends who have taken the challenge after seeing my progress. Now that I have learned about dieting and exercising plus nutritional supplements making a big difference- I plan to continue forward to make a much better progress this second time around. It has been much fun and a personal accomplishment to have completed these 8 weeks. Much luck to everyone who participated. See you at first place next time.
