Wowie! I am STOKED with my results!
But to gain 1.3kgs of muscle while getting SHREDDED over the silly season is insane!
I can safely say that I did not hold back over Christmas and New Years period. I definitely had my share, and probably then some, of the festive food and drink.
So lets back track...
8 weeks ago I decided to give this 8 Week Best Body Challenge a real go. In September I played in a premiership for my local Aussie Rules side and as it had been long over due we celebrated rather long and hard. Combine that with a lazy off season my physique deteriorated very quickly.
I began worrying that the upcoming preseason was going to be torture if I didn't do something about it now.
That is the moment I registered for the Challenge!
After seeing the results of previous winners the competitive beast in me woke up and I decided I wanted to take out first place! Nek Minnet - I realised I would be finishing early January, which meant that Christmas and New Years would fall in the final weeks of my challenge.
I knew I had to work incredibly hard to balance out the silly season so that is when I turned to CrossFit. This style of training is high volume and high intensity. If you see any of the champions of the CrossFit games they are ridiculously shredded and huge! Exactly what I wanted!
My first few sessions I pulled up sore, as to be expected after no training for months, but soon enough I was back into it. Training 5-6 times a week. Towards the end of my Challenge I threw in some standard weight training for the pump up.
I cleaned up my diet, nothing too extreme. Didnt really cut anything out. It consisted of lots of greens and veggies, some fruit and berries, lean meats, some carbs and lots of good fats.
I smashed these product like clockwork!
Supergreens, Berry Blast and Fibre in the morning. Berry Blast pre-workout, Supergreens and MRP afterwards. As I was training so much I was eating a large amount of food so the Digestive Enzymes and Essential Vitamins featured regularly throughout my day. Bedtime was Probiotic Ultra and Repair Ultra, which is a life saver after a long day in the gym!
With this much training I honestly don't think I would have been able to continue it at that intensity without the YOR Health product line.
To be able to get up very next morning and train at 100% because my body fully recovered was amazing, and definitely lead me to my results!
By simply training like an animal, eating clean most of the time and using the YOR Health product line religiously I was still able to enjoy a drink or two and the festive season with family and friends, all while building a ridiculous rig for summer!
Thank you YOR Health!
Ps. Mind the silly faces in the after photos, posing is hard work! :p
