This 8 week challenge changed my life in a lot of ways. It really forced me to push myself and have more self-discipline. It also changed the way I view food and it gave me a higher consciousness of the choices I made about what food to put into my body. In my house growing up my siblings and I were always told to eat everything on our plates and if you didn’t like what was served you were either scolded or you simply didn’t eat. Coming from a family where money can be tight at times, you’re conditioned to buy the cheap or convenient low quality or processed foods because the cost of eating healthy is just too expensive. However, I know different. The cost of being sick is far greater than eating healthy would ever be. So, in the course of my 8 week challenge process I intentionally made better choices in regards to what I ate. Whenever my mother would purchase juice or carbonated soft drinks, I opted for water or supergreens mixed with Yor Fiber Plus. If my mom bought fast food for dinner, I chose to drink my vanilla meal replacement shake with fiber. Being a college student it’s super easy to purchase a candy bar or bag of chips or pastry. I would intentionally walk a few blocks and purchase a spinach salad or even pack my own lunch. Snickers candy bars are my favorite, but I am proud to say that in the duration of this challenge I have not had one snicker bar. That takes a great deal of self-control because my school’s bookstore keeps them right by the register and there were times when I’d say aloud, “No, nope. Don’t look at it.” Exercise played a huge role in my life. I exercised daily. I rely on public transportation and so I would purposefully get off the bus many blocks away from where I was set to transfer to my next bus. I did this so that I could not only be forced to walk a long distance, but also so that I could take the opportunity to take in the air and enjoy nature. I feel like so often we forget that focusing on breathing and being in a space of peace and gratitude is an intricate part of health. There is a common misconception that to get to your fitness goals you have to go to an actual fitness facility. I took daily walks, but the bulk of my exercise took place in the comfort of my own home. I set aside time each week to do core strengthening exercises. I never really knew much about exercising methods, but I made it a point to look up different home techniques, I sought advice from a fitness expert who personalized a workout plan for me and even utilized a workout app on my iphone. Another misconception is that exercise can't be fun. My way of making exercise fun was by incorporating dance into my routines. I did a lot of cardio workouts. There were times when I felt like throwing in the towel if I was working on a particular area where I really had to push myself to my limits, but in my mind all I could think about was how great I was going to look and feel when I reached my goals. When I exercise at home, I exercise in front of a mirror. One day I was warming up, doing jumping jacks and I actually saw my abdominals and it made me work even harder. I feel so accomplished and I wouldn’t have been able to do that without the help of my products, a healthy balanced diet, a healthy mind and exercise. The products that played a key role in my progress were the complete burn, mrp, supergreens, fiber and repair ultra. As the weeks went on, my confidence level rose tremendously. I feel incredible waking up every morning. I sleep better, my energy is great, I know that I’m getting stronger and the results show. My family notices, my friends notice it and I feel so good when I look in the mirror. I feel beautiful inside and out. While others have given up on their goals, it’s so heartwarming to know that I followed through. It's so amazing to witness my body transform right before my eyes; the feeling of knowing that I took control and molded and sculpted my body in a way that pleased me. I am so grateful to this challenge because it helped me love myself even more and see myself as a winner. Because of this challenge, I feel like I can take on the world. This is only the beginning.
