For as long as I can remember health and fitness has been a major part of my life. I love to train and I always pushed my body to the limit. The reason I have never been able the body I have always dreamed of is because of overtraining. I have always eaten well and trained hard but never taken the time to listen to my body and understand the true meaning behind perfect nutrition.
2 years ago I injured my back during a heavy strength program. This resulted in countless visits to specialists and a year and a half of constant lower back pain. This injury took away my ability to train and with it the one thing that had always made me happy. I never gave up trying to find someone who could help me. I knew if I didn't keep trying I would never be able to train hard again. The thought of having something your so passionate about being taken away from you forever is in someways a life changing experience.
The option to join the 8 week challenge couldn't have come at a better time for me. My rehab is on track and I have just started lifting weights again. Mentally I struggled for the fist half of the cycle due to my reluctancy to lift again after not having weight trained for so long because of my injury. I knew I had made a commitment to the challenge and that I had to finish the cycle. The last four weeks of this cycle was a really joyful experience for me. Not only was I getting stronger, building my confidence and seeing a change in my body I had so much energy!
In the past when I have trained hard I wake up every day feeling exhausted but because I love my training so much I would still get up every morning at 5am and head to the gym. Usually I would feel energised after my workout but come early afternoon I would be exhausted and struggle through the last half of the day. Waking up every morning feeling excited and energised to train is an amazing feeling. I am energised throughout the whole day and feel like I can be the best person I can be as a result. Not having the high and lows that I used to experience takes away the urge to snack throughout the day on unhealthy foods just to keep your energy up. Thus making It so much easier to stick to your diet plan.
Since being introduced to YOR Health I have learnt so much about nutrition. This information is priceless for someone who has trained all their life without ever achieving the results they have dreamed of.
