I am so excited and inspired to be apart of this challenge. The 8 week challenge is not just a challenge for 8 weeks however its a challenge that gives you the right support and tools to live a healthy life. My weight has been a struggle for me basically my entire life. I have suffered from several health complications and on top of that bad eating habits, and with lack of belief I have never been able to get my weight under control. I have always had a roller coaster ride with weight but I have NEVER been over 200 pounds. Starting this challenge I was 250 pounds. The last few years I pretty much lost myself and lost touch of reality. How could it get that bad? I couldn't believe how out of control and unhealthy I had become.
Last year I was diagnosed with PCOS which is polycystic ovarian syndrome. I was putting on even more weight and couldn't understand.I knew it just wasn't bad eating. With PCOS it makes it extremely hard to lose weight because of all the hormone imbalances. I was 28 years old, overweight, sad and I even stopped menstruating. I knew something needed to change. My breaking point was December 2012. I was in Punta Cana with my boyfriend and friends. I was walking by and saw about 15 beautiful friends in their bikinis and someone said lets take a picture. I was told to join but said "I will be right back". I ran into the bathroom and hid in the bathroom stall with my feet up. My friend came into the bathroom and said "come out and take the picture." I told her "I cant I do not want to be in the picture. My friend said to me" take the picture you are still beautiful and when you are ready to change you will". At the moment I have never been so disgusted, disappointed , embarrassed and humiliated in my entire life. I had to hide in a bathroom because I felt almost physical pain to look at myself in a picture. I told myself you can't keep living your life this way. Hiding from the truth and hiding from your fears of who you are.
That saying ask and you shall receive really is true. I wanted a fresh start. I wanted a way, a system, a plan that I could follow. I heard that YORHEALTH was coming out with a 8 week challenge. I said this is my chance. I can start over accept where I am but focus on the change. I started using all the products in the Best Body set. Having everything individually packaged saves me time and its easy on the go so I don't forget any of my products. I also work out about three to four times a week. I even started learning how to cook healthy meals. The challenge gives me the inspiration to keep this as a lifestyle. Although I will always have PCOS, having great nutrition and exercise helps to manage the symptoms. Since January I have started to have my menstrual cycle consecutively every month oppose to last year only having it around 3 times the entire year. Having the supplements, exercise and support of the challenge I feel like my life and health is making a turn for the good. My ultimate goal is to be apart of the 100 pound club! Since January I have lost a total of 15 pounds, 8 pounds from this last 8 week challenge and total loss off 9 inches from areas like bust, waist and hips. This is just the beginning, THANK YOU YORHEALTH !!!!
