I can't believe that I have finished my first 8 week challenge already, I started this challenge with no idea if I would follow through with it, because I had become so use to eating the same sugary, sweet foods my whole life without having a clue/care in the world for how it would effect me.

The one thing that kept me going and motivated was my daughter. I had my daughter 6 & 1/2 months ago and whilst pregnant with her I found out I had gestational diabetes, it had never run in my family and I didn't have anyone in the family who had it, so this was a big shock to me. I gained over 20kgs and Basically my obstetrician said to me if I didn't start eating healthier and doing regular exercise that I would most likely develop type two diabetes for life.

So when this opportunity came along I new I had to do it for me, my fiancé and myself!!! I had never taken products before and it took me about 2 weeks to wt use to the shakes but once I got creative with what I could with it, I loved them. The products gave me a lot more energy to do a work out plus in everyday life have the energy to stay up and interact/play with my daughter. I can definitely say that the products gave me a structure to build a good diet around and eventually get into that habit of healthy eating & exercise which I lacked previous to this challenge.

Initially my goal was to exercise 3 times a week and to be honest around Christmas I slacked a bit with the exercising and I knew that if I didn't do it regularly I wasn't going to achieve my goals so from week 6-8 I was exercising daily sometimes twice a day.

My initial weight was 75kgs (165pounds) which is the heaviest I have been in my whole life and my final weight ended up being 71kgs (156pounds) so I lost 4kgs (8pounds) altogether which was nearly half of my goal weight of 65kgs (143pounds). I am so proud that I have lost this weight as I know a steady but safe amount of weight loss is going ensure that I keep it off.

I am so great full for the YORHealth NZ family who provided the support to motivate me and seeing others in NZ who we're stay at home mums who had the same goals really helped me to push harder.

I couldn't have done it without the support of my wonderful fiancé who is also about to start his challenge and although it has come to the end of my challenge those habits I have learnt over the last 8 weeks will continue and this is only the beginning.

The one quote that kept me going was this " I will not Starve for this, but I will work hard for this, it may take longer doing it the healthy and right way, but it will last longer this way, it will be better and I will be happy, happy and beautiful"
