LIZZIE'S BEST BODY! :)

BEFORE & AFTER WEIGHT:
The focus for me was not to lose weight but to tone the body, losing a little body fat at the same time. I only weighed myself at the start and end. My focus shifted from concern with my physical appearance to an overall appreciation for the body and power of the mind. It is truly incredible how much power we can have over our lives when we are in tune with the body; something the last 8 weeks taught me!

A LITTLE ABOUT ME GOING INTO THE CHALLENGE:
I travel for work so often get lethargic and have long days surrounded by crappy take away, copious amounts of caffeine and rely solely on myself to find motivation to workout as there is little access to quality gyms where I go. Over the few months (prior to the challenge) I struggled to roll out of bed before I had to and napped at least once during the day after training hard at crossfit or running or the pool. I LOVE exercise but kept finding myself injured, taking days to recover, lacking energy to do anything else and getting constantly down about it. I thought this was just normal for someone who works out that much, thought that the food I put in my body was enough and that I would just get better eventually.
Enter: 8 Week Challenge and MY best body journey!

THE PRODUCTS AND HOW THEY FIT INTO MY DAY:
Probiotic & Repair every morning upon waking. At night occasionally an extra probiotic if I was feeling unwell or an extra repair after a big training session. These both made a world of difference to my overnight recovery. My body is kind of in shock that I have never been this healthy!
Supergreens & Berry Blast first thing upon waking up. CHANGED MY DAYS!! Found it was incredible to fuel my workouts, especially when I normally run long distances and on an empty stomach. Really woke me up and kick started my body! I didn’t try to cut coffee but within a week realized I wasn’t having any and still don’t feel the need. A Digest with every meal and I am now distraught if I miss this! Slim once or twice throughout the day and one in the morning before breakfast. Multi-Vitamin with lunch. I missed taking these when I went away for a few days and really felt the difference! Fibre and MRP together post-workout, used as an extra snack mostly but loved that I could substitute as a meal if I got stuck ?

EXERCISE REGIME:
I trained 4-6 times a week. I did less than normal over the 8 week challenge. My body felt like it was getting what it needed, so my workouts were effective and I did not feel the need to double up on sessions or over do it like usual. I started getting better and faster results in terms of performance, strength and endurance than before. After not running for a few months due to shin splints, which had left me sore when walking and incapable of running, I started to slowly get back into it. Within two weeks of my challenge I ran 23km which is the longest distance I have ever done. My recovery was QUICK, I truly was not sore the next day, no DOMS. I still can not believe it!

THE INCREDIBLE IMPACT ON MY LIFE; MY JOURNEY:
“Once your body gets the nutrition it needs it will get the results it needs”.
This 110% sums up my 8 weeks. It wasn’t about result at the end of 8 weeks. It became a LIFESTYLE OVERHAUL. I have been active as long as I remember; exercise is probably the biggest part of my life! I put my heart and soul into everything I do and I expect to be happy as a result. Not reality! Stress physically and mentally drains me and I have had an ongoing battle with anxiety and depression. Talking to people, getting up in the morning, eating, not eating; everything becomes an effort. Now I feel a HUGE change in my health and mindset. I have never felt more empowered as I do now, knowing that the fuel I give my body is making me stronger in mind and body as well as nourishing all of me. Now my mind has started programming a positive response to negative situations and thoughts. Instead of cutting sugar to “lose weight”, I learnt the effects it has on the mind and body and so cut down on these toxins to actually help my body and brain FUNCTION!

As my body naturally detoxed, my mind began to detox itself of negativity. That is by far my greatest achievement in the last 8 weeks. Having energy from the products meant more productive, longer days. No more daily afternoon naps; affirmations and self-development have become a part of my daily routine.

I am excited for my next 8 weeks now, which begins Easter Monday!
