I remember the morning I woke up and saw myself in the mirror and looked more like Buddha than Jimmy Tran. I was disgusted with myself. My insecurities were all but too apparent to everyone around me – my business partners, girlfriend at the time, and close friends. They all knew I needed to make a change and I was too stubborn to admit I had an eating problem and that I was using food, unhealthy food, as a crutch. My pant size had climbed to a high of 35 and my large shirts were growing snugger and snugger. My body became an enemy to me rather than a place for my soul to call home. I hated myself and most of all I felt stuck. I felt alone. I felt fat.
I was the “fat” kid growing up earning nicknames such as, “blueberry.” I was small and round and that combination isn’t the most attractive shape. I finally took off the weight about four years through the YOR Health product line and felt amazing! However, when my business came to a standstill in production and I went through a painful divorce, my focus shifted from my health and toward my problems. I stopped using my products and instead ate greasy comfort food. The pounds packed on and on until I didn’t even recognize myself anymore. It was then I decided to take my life back into my own hands and start a new cycle for the eight week challenge!
The word “painful” can’t even come close to what shifting back into working out and eating healthy felt like to me. It was miserable. But as I continued ifelt myself becoming stronger and faster at the gym. I enjoyed cooking healthy meals and finding different ways to flavor them. The YOR Health products and their amazing taste made it so simply for me to stick to my new regimen. My girlfriend and I really committed to taking on this challenge and we were making great strides toward our health and future as a couple. Then, the unthinkable happen. My girlfriend suddenly became my ex-girlfriend the month before my challenge was over. I still can’t even fathom how any of it makes sense and have trouble understanding why it has come to this point but I know how difficult it is to battle my urges to comfort myself with food. However, this time, I was stronger. I didn’t cave into my cravings and instead put all of my energy into finishing this challenge strong as a victor.
I am officially down more than I ever have been before and feel amazing. I went from wearing a size 39 to now wearing a size 28 comfortably. I feel sexier than I ever have before and even though some would say I have lost a lot of weight I think I gained more strength than anything. This challenge really tested my capacity and pushed me to my emotional limits to be aware of what I am putting into my body. I am so happy I did this eight week challenge and encourage anyone going through a hard time in their life to really commit eight weeks to themselves. You deserve it and start NOW. Don’t wait until later because later never comes.
