Hi. My name is Lia. I started YorHealth because I needed to lose weight! I've tried so many products from diet pills to weight loss programs to even getting a gym membership at one point. Throughout the years my weight has fluctuated up and down. I am 35 years old and I'm at the heaviest I have ever been, at 213 lbs!! I'm actually considered obese according to my BMI. And that scares me! I have been depressed for the past 4 years after my boyfriend got locked up. I was pregnant and I was alone. After I had my baby I was still battling depression silently. I never let anyone see how I was truly feeling inside. I felt ugly, fat, sad, mad, embarrassed. I completely shut out the world. I stopped talking to friends and just kept to myself. All the while I kept packing on the pounds. I felt more and more insecure. I didn't want to go to any events in case people I knew saw me and would say wow she got fat!! Or if I went to public places people would stare at the fat girl. I hated shopping for clothes. I don't think I've bought an outfit in the last 4 yrs! I didn't want to buy XXL tops or size 16 jeans. They wouldn't fit right on me anyway. But this year, is going to be my year! I'm tired of feeling sad for myself. I'm tired of being angry. Being a single mother has made me stronger, has made me want to live longer and be healthier physically and mentally. I need to do this for myself and for my daughter. No one else is going to do it for me, so I picked myself up and started this journey. I struggled my first few weeks and only exercised once a week. I was discouraged when my family didn't support my effort or didn't see a difference when I was actually dropping weight. But I realized I didn't need their support nor their approval. I wasn't doing this for anyone but myself and my daughter. Now 8 weeks later and I feel amazing!! Better then I have in years!! I've decreased my body fat and bmi! My bone mass has even increased!!! That is amazing!!! To some it may not be a lot, but to me, this is a huge accomplishment! Although I didn't hit my goal of 150, I am now under 200lbs!! I plan to continue my journey until I reach my goal if not exceed it!!! I am slowly gaining back my confidence and feeling more comfortable with myself inside and out!
