El reto de 8 semanas para mi fue en parte un reto mental, así como un reto físico. Para ponerlo en perspectiva en enero de 2020, mi peso era de 104 kg, intentando rehabilitarme después de 7 años de lesiones continuas que habrían evitado más de 2 meses de ejercicio, en medio de un proceso de divorcio y una depresión. Cuando inicio el reto de 8 semanas, estaba a la mitad de mi transformación. Durante un mes y medio había estado atorado en 96 kg y estaba intentando recuperarme de una lesión menor.
Ocho semanas después, me entusiasma mucho poder compartir de que no solo logré romper mi estancamiento temporal; pero he logrado 7 meses continuos de ejercicio sin mayores contratiempos y libres de depresión. Logré perder 6 kg en 8 semanas, alcanzando 14 kg en tan solo 7 meses.
Durante el reto tuve lidear con lesiones menores en mi tobillo y pantorrilla. Estos fueron contratiempos que tuve que superar por medio de determinación. Me ejercité entre 1:30 a 2 hrs diariamiente, en algunas actividades enfocadas a flexibilidad, fuerza y quema de grasa. Claro que incluyeron el programa Yor Body from Home, así como correr y algunas otras. ¡Durante estas 8 semanas, mi prima Valeria, incluso se unió a mis rutinas en zoom todos los Martes y Jueves por la mañana!
Cambié habitos alimenticios aprovechando YOR Shake, YOR Fiber Plus, y YOR Digest Ultra. Me sirvieron de manera importante para cambiar habitos alimenticios y la perdida de peso. Aunque una muy agradable sorpresa ha sido que prácticamente ayudaron a resolver un problema gastrointestinal que he batallado por los últimos 11 años; así como temas vínclulados a una piedra en el riñon que he batallado durante el último año. ¡Eso fue una maravilla!
Estoy muy contento de haberme inscrito en el reto de 8 semanas, ya que ha representado un componente crítico para ayudarme a lograr transformar de manera positiva mi vida. Si no me crees, es tan simple como esto... nunca en mi vida adulta había pesado menos de 92 kg, inclusive en mi época de maratonista y triatleta, ahora peso 90 kg. Por lo que ahora estoy determinado en enfocar mi energía y motivación en lograr pesar 86 kg.

The 8 week challenge was for me in part a mental challenge, as well as a physical challenge. To put you in perspective, I started in January of 2020 weighting 230 lb (104 kg), trying to rehab after 7 years of continuous injuries that had prevented more than 2 months of exercise, in the middle of a divorce and depressed. When I started the 8W challenge I was in the middle of my transformation. For a month and a half I had been stuck at 209 lb (96 kg), and was getting back from a minor injury.
Eight weeks later I am glad to share with you, that I have not only broken, my temporary stall; but making it 7 months exercising without major setbacks, and depression free. I've managed to loose 9 lb (6 kg) in 8 weeks, a total of 30 lb (14 kg) in 7 months.
During the challenge I had minor injuries in my ankle, and calf. These were setbacks that I fought through determination. I exercised on a daily basis between 1:30 hr to 2 hrs. Some of the activities were for flexibility, strength and burning fat. They, of course, included the Yor Body from Home routines, running, among others. During those 8 weeks my cousin Valeria would even join my routines on zoom every Tuesday and Thursday mornings!
I changed eating habits by taking advantage of the YOR Shake, YOR Fiber Plus, and YOR Digest Ultra. They supported the change, and the weight loss. Though one nice surprise has been, that they have almost solved a gastro issue that I've had for the last 11 years; as well as a kidney stone problem I have been battling for the last year. That was marvelous!
I am so glad I entered the 8 week challenge, it has been a key component to help me continue to make a turn in my life. If you don't believe me, it's as easy as this... I had never in my adult life weighted less than 203 lb (92 kg), not even while running marathons and triathlons. Now I weight 200 lb (90 kg) and determined on focusing my energy and motivation in achieving a weight of 190 lb (86 kg).
