My name is Beryl Peasley-Rheiner and I currently live in Naugatuck, Connecticut. I have been overweight all my life. This is my story.

As a child I was “pleasantly plumb” and then each year the “cuteness” wore off as I just got heavier and heavier. When I was 15, I joined Elaine Powers fitness club and lost 25 pounds bringing me to 140 pounds which by all accounts was still overweight for my frame. Four years later, I graduated high school at 184 pounds…and then 5 years later I climbed to 230 pounds. Diet after diet, nothing really worked, I would lose 10-15 pounds but never got back below 200.

In 2005, I was at my heaviest weight 365…lost about 25 pounds and have kept that off give or take 5 pounds. Regardless of the event in my life (getting married, going on a trip, starting a new job), I was unable to set a goal and accomplish it when it came down to my weight.

I have been blessed throughout my life with good health, great friends, wonderful family and an amazing career. I have worked hard, many say too much, however I always wanted to achieve more despite my weight. Having 20+ years in the corporate training industry, I have spent a lot of time in front of people and often times close relatives and friends would be concerned that I would not be accepted because I was obese. This just made me work harder to prove to myself and them that I could do it.

Having been so blessed in so many ways and having success in all other aspects of my life added to my frustration over my weight. Why was I unable to succeed when it came to my weight? Although I am a planner and love to take care of others when it came time to plan my meals and exercise to take care of myself, I didn’t. As the pounds increased and stayed, especially over the past five years my health and fitness started to decline in equal proportions. Sleep apnea was diagnosed over 10 years ago and arthritis in both knees was diagnosed in 2005. Still I just could not get it done. I met and fell in love with my husband, Mark…a wonderful man who loves me unconditionally as I am, and still when I wanted to lose 50 pounds for our wedding, I still could not get it done. Then in March, I experienced chest pains and ended up in the hospital. Even though it was not a heart attack, it was a wake up call. My cardiologist wanted me to undergo gastric bypass surgery. Then in May, my orthopedist informed me that the arthritis was severe and both knees need to be replaced however my BMI is 67 and needs to be below 40. He recommended gastric bypass surgery. For me, the surgery is not an option.

A couple of months ago I was introduced to YOR Health by friends Paul and Renee. They were both succeeding and I was intrigued by the program. I loved the idea of taking a couple of packets to work and being all set for breakfast and lunch. I have a strong commitment to my faith and Christian beliefs, so I start each day with a prayer that I will keep faithful to the program and that it will be fulfilling to me. And so far it is! Every morning, I combine my Super Greens, a Vanilla shake packet and a Berry Blast to start off my day. I have a light snack mid morning and then a chocolate shake at lunch time. Then another light snack in the afternoon and a balanced meal at night. I also take Ultra Digest, Ultra Repair, a probiotic and Burn supplements. Exercise has been a challenge for me because of my work schedule and my knees, but every day I am feeling better and better. I started eight weeks ago at 332 and today I am 313, down 19 pounds. This is the lowest weight I have been in over 10 years and I feel terrific with more energy and I am moving with more ease. I am determined to take small steps and deep breathes; keeping the momentum going steadily until I pass 300, then 275, then 250…and so on. I am thrilled that I have kept with a program for eight weeks and that it is working for me! Thank you!!
