Fit and almost 40!! This 8 week challenge represents the beginning of a new lifestyle! As a kid and into my 20's, I never had a weight problem. As matter of a fact, because of my height (5'7"), I wanted to gain some muscle so I could compete with all the taller athletes. So at age 19 when I joined the US Navy, I began body building. By the time I was 20 I had achieved the body I was looking for! I thought I'd have that body for the rest of my life.
After leaving the US Navy to attend college I continued to workout and played collegiate basketball. With all the basketball practice (running up and down the court) I got more fit than I ever imagined. My identify to the world was a fit athlete.
It wasn't until I got out of college and into the work world that I realized that eating 3000-4000 calories a day wasn't working with my new sedimentary lifestyle. Even then I didn't change my habits. It wasn't until my wife got pregnant & had a miscarriage that I realized how much weight I had gained. My wife had gained about 35lbs and was severely depressed about the miscarriage. So I started looking for ways to help her lose weight. It was then that I realized I had let myself go a little too!
Because of our work schedule going to the gym for hours like we did when we were in college wasn't an option. So I started going to all the main stream supplement stores looking for a solution to lose weight without too much time in the gym! We tried just about everything the sales people recommended and nothing worked. My wife became hopeless and I grew more frustrated. This extra weight affected my social life severely. With all that extra weight around my waist, I avoided any social functions where we might go swimming or go to he beach. I was so ashamed of my body!! I had become so used to being in shape, that I was embarrassed to take off my shirt in public!
Then luck came our way! We were introduced to YOR Health. Now that we have 2 children, I want to make sure I stay fit and age well. So when I found out about the 8 week challenge, I wanted to use it to start a new chapter in my fitness and get back to that body and fitness I had in my 20's. For me it was simple. In the morning upon rising I would mix a scoop of SuperGreens with 2 scoops of Fiber Plus & a packet of YOR BerryBlast. Take 2 YOR Essential Multi- Vitamins, Probiotics, and a Repair Ultra capsule. Then I would go exercise (run a mile or ride my bike) a couple times a week. After my workout I would drink a vanilla YOR MRP smoothie with strawberries & a banana. Throughout the day I used YOR Digest Ultra with YOR Essential Multi-Vitamins with my meals. Sometimes I might drink another YOR MRP shake at night!
Now that I've completed my first 8 week challenge I have developed the habit of getting up in the morning to exercise. Now my next step is to continue this routine and make it a lifestyle. I must stay on this path, because I'll be 55 years old when my first kid graduates from high school and 58 by the time #2 graduates!!
Thank YOR Health for starting the challenge and giving me the opportunity to get fit before 40!!
