My first 8 week challenge has proven to be an incredibly steep learning curve from which I have gained so much, both in understanding my own body, and in learning how to train effectively to get the most out of it.
With working a 10 hour a day desk job, I never really had the time to watch what I've eaten and simply grabbed a sandwich/rice box and eaten at my desk. Late nights in the office, meant cakes and cookies to keep us going. I have therefore always tended to compensate for poor food choices by just trying to train a little bit harder.
Since embarking on the challenge, I have focused more on nutrition, helping to attain the level of nutrients my body needs with a Supergreens/Berry Blast combo for a pre-workout boost, and then an MRP and Berry Blast post work out. Digest Ultra and Fiber have also become an essential part of my diet. Every day also begins with a Complete Burn and MRP/banana combo.
Given that I used to train 7+ times a week before and never achieved anything other than sore muscles, what I have managed to get with the products truly astounds me.
With the help of the products, I can now train harder and more than ever before - I find I have the energy to play 2 hours of tennis after a 10 hour day at work, with an hour and a half in the gym at lunchtime! I even have colleagues coming up to me in the changing rooms to ask what my secret is!
Having Chinese New Year during these 8 weeks did set me back quite a bit... Imagine Christmas dinner, but every day...for 2 weeks! I can't help but think what I might have been able to achieve if I were able to say no to the hoards of relatives trying to feed me!
Not only has the challenge helped me gain much needed self confidence, it has also helped me in my work life - I now have the energy to focus on the job at hand for longer, and my results have let me meet so many more people in the office (I have never had people come up to me in the gym before just for a chat - apparently some now refer to me as "the gym girl"!).
Looking forward to the next one already so I can learn even more next time around!! :) I honestly can't wait to see how much further I can push myself and what my body is truly capable of.
