MY 8 WEEK CHALLENGE
So I was invited by a friend to check out a Challenge Party. I was a bit sceptical at the time, seen one seen them all sort of thing, so was basically just doing it as a favour to him. But after watching how some of these people on The Challenge were not only changing physically but had changed their whole lifestyle, it was something I wanted to be a part of. So I jumped on The Challenge and here I am 8 weeks later the happiest I've been in a long long time.
I've always enjoyed going to the gym but as I'm of Samoan decent, my diet has always been a problem. We have many siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, so there's always birthdays, get-togethers and functions that have the most amazing meals that I could never turn down. In the first week of the challenge I found the Yor Product line covered all of my dietary requirements, so although I was training often and always on the run with work and looking after my four kids... the products met all of my nutritional needs. Berry Blast kept my energy levels up. No longer was I coming home after to work and falling asleep on the couch. Ultra Repair & Yor Shakes helped my muscles recover quicker after each gym session so it was easier to workout the next day. Yor Digest Ultra and Yor Repair Ultra helped support my digestive system which began to function how it's meant too. I didn't change much of my diet, it was mainly my portion sizes, the number of times I ate during the day, and making sure I ate my dinner before 8 pm.
My new meal plan was pretty much as follows:
NUTRITION PLAN
5.15 am: Berry Blast and YOR Repair
6.30 am: YOR Shake, Banana, Muesli Bar & Kiwifruit
10-11am: sandwiches or Tuna & Rice with piece of fruit and raisins. YOR Digest.
1-2 pm: YOR MRP
4.30 pm: Few toast with banana or yoghurt YOR Greens drink
6-7 pm: Dinner time with YOR Digest.
Bedtime - YOR Probiotics
This is basically what I followed for the 8 weeks. Times varied depending on what I had planned for the day. It wasn't all healthy eating, I still had the odd snacks now and then including a few drinks on a couple of occasions. However, I did give up coffee in the morning and also chocolates and pies which I used to have a lot of. My Berry Blast and MRP were easy replacements as I enjoyed the taste of them as well. My nutrition was backed up by continuing my regular exercise regime that I followed religiously.
EXERCISE
MON - 5.30am Gym - Full Body ,8-9pm 25-35min run.
TUE - 5.30am Gym - Legs, 8-9pm 25-35min run.
WED - 5.30am Gym - Chest, Touch Game
THU - 5.30am Gym - Back, 8pm Abs
FRI - 5.30am Gym - Shoulders and Arms, Tag Game
SAT - 6.30am YOR Health NZ Boot Camp
SUN - Long Night Run
This is pretty much what I had been doing before The Challenge minus the cardio runs and the Boot Camp. It was fun meeting up once a week with other people on The Challenge to support each other. The cardio was one of the main attributes to my weight loss along with using the YOR Health products.
Although I didn't reach my goal I'm happy with what I've achieved in the 8 weeks and I feel AWESOME!!! I loved doing The Challenge and I can't wait to show my friends and family my results and hope it will inspire them to follow suit and jump on it. I continue to have lots of support from all my family, my friends and the whole YOR Health crew. It has definitely been a life changing experience and I look forward to continuing my YOR Health journey.
ps. sorry I didn't submit all of my pics. I didn't know until 2 weeks into my challenge we needed all 4 pics to upload as I already had 2 weeks of training under my belt.
