OH MY GOODNESS.....The very thought of having to submit ‘before’ photos into the YORbest body challenge was so unbelievably mortifying to me a couple of months ago - that it literally prevented me from submitting my final results for the first challenge I tried (even though I trained my butt off).
I felt so vulnerable and was fearful of being so upfront about my body and my flaws, and exposing them to others (with the potential of being criticised), that I literally just refused to enter my final photos!

However, after a few months of observing many inspiring people before me (of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds) have the courage to post their pictures and transformations up with pride - not being fearful of other’s opinions; and to watch them face up to themselves and the the various health and/or physical contingencies holding them back; I slowly warmed to the idea of competing in the challenge properly (i.e., actually submitting the final photos)!
I also witnessed a beautiful bond develop between fellow contestants - how everyone uplifted each other to keep motivated (both in person and online), and how happy people were for the success of the fellow participants.
That’s when I realized that in the YORhealth best body community, no one is out to judge and criticize the before or after photos.
In fact...it is the antithesis.

Everyone who takes part in the challenge is bound by a similar quest to improve their health for the better, to grow (physically, mentally, emotionally), to push themselves out of their own unique comfort zones, to witness other people’s life-changing transformations, to learn to be accountable to their goals and to offer support to others on a similar journey to bettering their health.

This gave me the courage to try again and enter the challenge! How could i not?
And - oh my - the change I have seen in myself is so monumental that I completely forgot about any anxieties associated with revealing my before photos .... I was too focused on feeling SO GOOD!

MY CHALLENGE GOALS:

When I started the challenge the second time around, I had a few physical and mental goals I wanted to meet.
Physically - I wanted to lose a tiny bit of weight, to tone up and to have more energy. However it was my biggest goal to be able (for the first time in years) to develop a TRUST for my body. This was the most imporant thing.
For years my digestion was so out of whack I literally could never predict what state of being/health I would wake up in.
Some days I would be bloated, whereas on others I would have debilitating stomach cramps and would lose my appetite.
Some days, my muscle cramps were so strong I could not sleep.
I had nutrient deficiencies due to an ability to absorb my foods- even though my consumption of fruits and vegetables was very high.
I would go through energy highs and lows, and subsequent emotional highs and lows.

It was all so random - I just didn’t know what my body was going to do next. It caused me a great deal of grief and anxiety. I could never know if my body was in a stare of tolerance or rejection.
I wanted to be able to take a product, to eat and to exercise.... and to know (to a large extent) how my body would react.
I wanted to fight back for the ability to really be in tuned with my body....an ability many of us lose in childhood.

So I commited to 8 weeks of taking YORhealth products (combined with regular exercise) consistently to see if I could take more control of my health and notice patterns between behaviour and physical outcomes.

Mentally, it was my goal to make significant inroads with how I felt about my body and my ability to love it.
I usually push myself too hard in training because I am so self critical rather than nurturing- this is where the support of the amazing YOR community helped, in addition to the healing properties of the products.

WHAT PRODUCT AND TRAINING REGIME DID MY EIGHT WEEK CHALLENGE INVOLVE?

I took a YOR probiotic tablet before bed every night, a YOR digestive enzyme tablet every time I ate a rich or heavily cooked meal, I had the Berry Blasts to give me an edge at the gym and the energy to train as consistently as i did, the fibre and the super-greens.
To choose a favourite between the products, for me, would be akin to choosing a favourite child!
But I guess - for me - the game changing products were the probiotics and digestive enzymes (the dynamite duo).
Together, they were a force to be reckoned with! They put my tummy in a happy, andbalanced state - rather than constantly inflamed from the foods and supplements I was taking. And I was finally absorbing all the beautiful nutrients from my diet.

Training wise - I honestly kept it the same as normal, because I already train like an animal! My body just got better results than normal because, with the help of the products, everything (digestion and recovery wise) was finally working.
Oh, and I learnt to squat which saw my training results enhance practically overnight.... (girls - don't be afraid of weights! )

THE RESULTS:

I am so, so, SO amazingly thrilled!
I really observed the compound effect in action - steadily, and then practically overnight! After 24 years my abs finally decided to come to the party!!
I no longer was suffering from constant bloating, I could keep my top button zipped all day long because there was no discomfort, I didn’t get cramps that had me kneeling over in pain, my iron levels improved (thus my energy increased), the fibers in my muscles were healing (from previous injuries) and expanding, my skin cleared up & started glowing, my eyes were brighter, my sleep improved and..... MOST SIGNIFICANTLY...I felt maredkly more positive about myself.
Seriously - when you body starts working properly, it is SO much easier to treat it right and to love it. Over the 8 weeks I really forged a newfound love of my body.

A FINAL NOTE:

I feel unstoppable now....like I can do ANYTHING i put my mind to. No exaggeration. My new train of thought it.....if I can transform my health so rapidly in this much time, and if others are getting similar (if not better results)....then the possibilities for what we are capable of are endless!

I suddenly realize why the term “glowing with health” was coined!

I am ever so grateful to YORhealth for the opportunity to participate, what it has improved in my life, and lastly to my amazing boyfriend Matthew Bate who kept gave me the final courage to enter and for gently encouraging me along the journey!

The end of this challenge is definitely not the destination, it is the start of something brilliant
