When starting the YOR Best Body 8 week challenge, I set the goal to look and feel the strongest and most powerful I have been before in my life. In order for me to achieve this goal, I had to reduce my body fat percentage mainly around my waist and increase my muscle mass. During the challenge I strictly followed the YOR health Best Body regime and in return I felt extremely energetic, motivated and light on my feet.
I started the challenge at 85.8kg and it was at this weight where I felt slow and less powerful. My weight changed week to week as I dropped to as low as 82.2kg three weeks into the challenge before finishing on 84.3kg. Throughout the 8 weeks I noticed I had decreased in body fat percentage and increased my muscle mass.
Whilst being on the challenge I maintained clean eating and stuck to mostly organic foods. With 5 meals a day 3-4 hours apart, I balanced healthy carbohydrates with high protein levels consisting of up to 170g of protein(2g x body weight) and with only low levels of good fats which I would get from foods such as almonds. By putting this nutrition plan into action and using the YOR health supplements I saw results very quickly.
My average daily nutritional intake would consist of the following:
I would start the day by having a YOR shake for breakfast. In this shake I would mix YOR chocolate or vanilla shake with Greek yogurt, coconut water, banana, chia seeds, YOR Fibre plus and YOR berry blast. I would then take two YOR essential vitamins, one YOR muscle repair with a glass of YOR supergreens.
For morning tea I would eat up to ten almonds and an apple.
My lunch would usually consist of tuna and brown rice or quinoa. I would also have two YOR essential vitamin tablets and a YOR digest ultra tablet with lunch. If I was exercising in the afternoon I would also have a YOR berry blast.
For afternoon tea I would have another YOR chocolate or vanilla shake with water.
Dinner would consist of a light meal such as grilled fish with salad or chicken breast with several serves of vegetables. I would also take two YOR essential vitamins and a YOR digest ultra tablet. Before sleeping I would also take a YOR probiotic ultra and YOR muscle repair ultra tablet.
Power training is what I am very interested in, so my training was mostly completed in the gym with high intensity lifts. I would usually train 3 - 4 times a week in the gym for approximately one hour. I started the challenge with a 4 week power phase which involved only 5 - 6 exercises but up to 10 sets of 3-5 repetitions using high intensity movements. I then completed a two week strength phase focusing on large compound muscle groups. I would use 6 - 8 exercises consisting of 5 sets of 3 - 6 repetitions with as much weight as possible. I then finished on a 2 week power phase.
I also ran 1 - 2 times a week involving sprint exercises as this is the type of training that interests me. For my sprint session I used either a interval or farlek style of training. Each session would usually take up to forty-five minutes and I would usually run a total of 1500m - 2000m of high intensity running.
I can say with confidence that since using the YOR health products I have never trained this hard and with this much quality before in my life. I feel confident with my body and now feel powerful and strong. My overall quality of life has significantly improved and I am confident that I can achieve what ever I set my mind too. I am so thankful to my brother and sister in-law who introduced me to the YOR health 8 week Best body Challenge and I now recommend it to not only my friends and family, but everyone I know in the health and fitness industry.
I can now start 2015 confident in my body and what I can achieve. This year is definitely going to be a great year for my health and fitness and overall quality of life!
