After being made redundant from my job (which came as a total surprise), I was emotionally all over the place. And my usual go-to for escapism to my problems is to eat. So I was quickly getting porky & unmotivated from being sedentary, sad and inactive. So I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and use this extra time I had whilst unemployed (& job hunting) to really focus on getting to where I wanted to be physically. If I couldn't control my life situation then I was going to take control of some part of my life - for the better!
I decided that committing to an 8 week challenge would be great motivation (and since my 27th birthday was right in the middle of it, I wanted to go into my 27th year looking the best I've ever looked!).
A long time ago I used to weigh over a 100kgs (220lb) and I have never been able to hit the "healthy" BMI range for my height - that was one goal. Another goal was to also start to see ab "definition" (for a girl who once was so obese she didn't know where her ribs were, I figured this was a realistic goal as well).
During the 8 weeks, I was working out 3-4 times a week. I'm a powerlifter (currently in my off season), so I do a lot of weight training and basically no cardio. I was also trying a new approach to eating - counting my calories and macros, but being much more relaxed in regards to planning than I have been previously and just listening to my body - if it's time to eat I'll be hungry! Which is why the super slims were fantastic! I would never quite get chew-on-my-arm hungry and I wasn't eating as much as I was previously because my appetite wasn't such a beast!
My day would start with a greens, fibre and berry blast to get the motor started in the morning, then breakfast with my multi-vs. Before lunch would be the superslims and maybe a digest. At the end of the day I would have my second round of superslims, multi vs and digest to help with dinner. And finally, I would hop into bed with my probiotic and repair (you want to sleep so hard people think you are dead? The repair/probiotic combo is for you!! haha).
Sounds a lot, but it's super easy! And your body craves it! (also, you just get into a good habit once you start to be rewarded with feeling amazing and seeing results!!) Also, I do love the MRP and would use that as an easy in-between-meal snack or make MRP pancakes on the weekend as a "treat" (not really classified as a treat because its so good for you, but it tastes a lot like one!).
After the 8 weeks I was amazed to find I'd lost 7kgs!! (15lbs!!), which I did NOT expect! I have never looked this good (including my skin & nails!! it's amazing what your body will do when it is allowed to thrive!!), or felt this good! And I exceeded my goals!! I'm now in the healthy weight range and I can see where the abs are!! (hidden still, but I think another challenge will fix that!). I am now employed and in the best shape of my life - starting a job happy, healthy and ready to show others how amazing THEY can feel too!!
CONFIDENCE is something you can't buy, but I think I did when I purchased the YOR health range because that is what it has given me - love for my body for the first time ever! (and as a lady who has been single for a very, very long time, I need to learn to love myself first!) And there is no price you can put on being able to do that.
