I began my journey 8 weeks ago full of high spirits that I was to become ripped and show all my friends just how great the YOR health products are!! I am not going to lie, I didn't think it would be as hard as it was- I struggled emotionally and physically. I was eating the right foods and sticking to my products however, It was like being on a roller coaster at times as I wasn't training properly or getting enough sleep. The products were getting me up every morning for 3:30am work outs which was great- I had something to look forward to to get me out of bed!! My 12 hour work days, 2 hour work out (1 hour in the morning and 1 at night) and 5 hours sleep was very challenging...I was struggling mid challenge and wasn't having rest days, was slipping with my protein in the afternoons- and generally very tired ...it was at that point I did some research into exactly when to take my products, what rest days and sleep I needed to gain muscle, and started making sure I was doing it exactly when I was meant to- even my probiotics in the morning which I had been forgetting to take! I forced my self to have rest days at first it was hard because I felt like I was cheating myself loosing days- but when I could see more results I stared feeling better about having a day off!!
When I joined up, my goal weight was 58kg as I was 62kg and thought when building muscle I wouldn't drop much weight. I now weigh 64.5kg and didn't loose any weight as such but gained muscle hence more weight!! I was disappointed at first but after being my own worst critic analysing the photos I could clearly see I hadn't gained any body fat- only muscle, so the weight I am proud of!!
The products are honestly what got me over the line, I guess I could refer to my protein shakes/super greens/berry blast as my chocolate of the challenge!! Yes the chocolate flavoured protein is my favourite!! The products were what I looked forward to every day- like I said when I opened my eyes my shake was what got me out of bed- and we all know once we are up we are fine it's the initial stage of getting up! So I would lay in bed thinking yummmm shake!!! Ha ha in my shakes everyday I used protein powder (obviously), a satchel of berry blast, a scoop of greens and a scoop of fibre. It sounds like a weird combo- but with cold water and ice- delicious!!! I would have the same mid afternoon minus the fibre.
Along the way there were many times I would look at myself in the mirror and think - Abs where are you- arms what are you doing? come on your letting me down....and it would bring me down. Especially when I was doing at this stage everything I could correctly. I had to keep reminding myself to never give up! The other thing I would tell myself was 'Alicia - you have been out of shape for years now, don't expect miracles in 8 week. Be proud your sticking to the challenge as that's an achievement in itself!'
I know in my heart I am slightly disappointed my abs didn't form as much as I would have liked- even 400 sit ups a day for eight weeks won't cut it. Overall however I am happy- and I now know I will not be stopping here. I will be joining up for another challenge! I want more!! I want to be in vagus some day on the stage!! Dreams do become reality if you want them enough!!!! The goals I set for myself were not unrealistic, it was the time frame!! So bring on another 8 weeks.... And 8 weeks after that and 8 weeks after that!! If that's what it's going to take!! Good luck to all in my cycle!!!
