Wow! Just Wow! I’ve learnt so much during the past 8 weeks in regards to my body, Diet, Supplements, training and overall living a healthy, positive lifestyle that I’ll support YOR health products for many years to come.
Early June I went to Bali for a 2 week “surf” trip. Before I left I weighed 94Kg’s. My mates and I surfed daily but I lacked physical and mental preparation for our trip away. Unfortunately, I was always the first one out of the water. Once I arrived home to Newcastle I knew it was time to lose weight and start surfing again.
A friend of mine underwent the YOR health 8 week challenge over a year ago and I recall him mentioning it to me, suggesting I should give it a go. It went through one ear and out the other and I never thought twice about it until a few months ago when he uploaded his before and after pictures to Facebook and I was blown away! He was ripped. He now stands behind YOR health products so much so he reps for this great company.
Upon starting the 8 week challenge I had lost 14kg’s. So now I’m starting at 80Kg’s. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy with where I was but I wasn’t satisfied. Never be content with where you are because there’s always a way to improve. So my goal going into this challenge was to shred down to 77kg’s and become fit enough to surf like I did during my teen years. I knew I must commit for 8 weeks and never give up. Training is the fun part, it’s the mental barriers of waking up early you must push through.
I’d wake up early and take my YOR SuperGreens mixed with YOR Berry Blast and wash it down with YOR Digest Ultra and YOR Probiotics Ultra. I’d then drive to the beach and check the surf, if it wasn’t good I’d go soft sand jogging for 45 minutes to get my cardio in.
During my lunch hours I would head home and work on “surf specific” training. Mobility stretching, specific core training, TRX movements and finish with a kettlebell and rope workout. I’d then wash up and head back to work for lunch which consisted of grilled fish w/pan fried mushrooms, garlic and shallots or steak w/veggies. (Perks of being a chef). While at work I’d take another scoop of YOR SuperGreens.
Three nights a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday after work I’d head to the gym for my strength training. I’d grab a YOR Berry Blast for the extra boost because by this time I’m relatively tired and these things just taste absolutely amazing! Headphones go in and my late night session begins. Front squats, lunges, 50 pull ups, 150 push ups, abs, bench press, lat pulldowns and tricep pulldowns are my staple for my strength training. Anything else was just an added bonus.
By this time it’s around 11.30pm when I arrive home, hungry and ready for a meal. Tired but determined to wake up a healthier, happier me!
All in all the YOR health 8 week challenge has motivated me to live a better life. The 8 weeks may be over but I'll continue striving to become a better version of myself all thank to YOR HEALTH!
I’ll finish my essay with a quote I'd heard from a motivational speaker named Les Brown. I would read this most days during my challenge for the extra motivation.
