I would first like to let you know that I am a single dad to an amazing, energetic 5 year old boy, my son David. I have a full-time job working in city government and I own 2 businesses. I say this not to impress anyone, but to illustrate that I really had no time for going to the gym, rigorous work out programs or even eating healthy for that matter. That is until one day I rolled out of bed and I was not happy with the guy I saw in the mirror. I had gained 30 pounds! This caused me to have low-self esteem, I was embarrassed to take my shirt off at the beach and I was diagnosed with having high-cholesterol at the age of 25! Bottom Line I did not love myself in that moment. I thought to myself “how did I let this happen?” Then I realized that I gained the weight after going through a painful divorce in 2010 with my son’s mom. After she told me she didn’t love me anymore and wanted a divorce, I was devastated. Depressed I found comfort in eating. I had to do something so I stop eating late, tried to make healthier choices, drank more water and made sure to sleep at least 7 hrs a night. I did lose 9 pounds but it was not enough! One day a friend introduced me the 8-Week Challenge. I weighed 171 pounds. I set my goal to drop 11 pounds in 8 weeks, selected the slim challenge set and entered the challenge by setting up my best body profile. I took 1 Yor Chocolate shake everyday for breakfast, 2 digest ultras with lunch/dinner and 3 complete burns a day. Since I still had no time to go to the gym I played basketball with friends 1x a week and signed up for kick boxing classes 2x a week. I immediately began to see results and felt better and better. I reached my goal weight of 160 pounds! Today I am happy with the man I see in the mirror. It feels good to be comfortable in my own skin again. I LOVE ME! This gives me the strength and confidence to do what I need to do so that I can take care of my son. This is how the 8-Week Challenge has impacted my life.
