Hey guys! :) Like most people, I can fall into the trap of over indulging around christmas time so choosing to do the 8 week challenge over this period was a challenge within itself. More importantly - a strategic one!
In previous years, I have put on 2-3 extra kilos over Xmas and NY celebrations and would find myself working my butt off to try and loose them quickly so I could feel good on the beach in my bikini. This time around, my goal was to use the challenge to change this repeating cycle and actually get fitter over the break. I wanted to show people that it is possible to have the xmas lunches, that cheeky wine or two..basically all the naughty things and still manage to avoid that extra holiday weight and fatigue.
My Exercise routine was: 1 hour workout 6 days per week with 1 rest day
I trained lower body x 2 per week
Upper body x 2 per week
Cardio x 3 per week

When it comes to loosing weight and generally looking after myself, I've always known that a healthy diet and exercise was a given, but still found myself turning to stimulants such as caffeine and sugary energy drinks to get an extra boost. Lucky for me I looked into YORHealths Essential Oil Range and I used them in conjunction with the Health products to give myself the extra boost!! … But its possible I may have become a little too obsessed with the oils :) I use all 35 oils, but here are my top 4.

PINK GRAPEFRUIT: Mixed with my greens for a bright, energising and citrusy flavour. not only does it have antibacterial properties but i noticed my cravings disappearing which helped with weight loss.

PEPPERMINT: This one is my favourite! Adding this to my green smoothies makes them taste like mint Ice-Cream! I felt rejuvenated, uplifted and refreshed after one of these. This oils also helped me with digestion and muscle pain relief which improved my recoveries after workouts.

BOOST BLEND:Just Before a workout i would simply smell this blend and instantly felt the aroma sending life into my senses and energising me.

SWEET DREAMS: I would diffuse this in the room at night. Something about this soothing blend of oils just helped me release tension from my workouts and i drifted into this peaceful serenity as i fell asleep.

So after completing the challenge I can say that I am over the moon with my results. I doubled my weight loss goals and made it through the holidays and feel pretty good about how I look in my bikini. This was also a special challenge cycle because my boyfriend Andrew and I did it together and it made it a lot of fun while being easier to keep each other on track. Being able to do the challenge together and trialling all the new Oils has fuelled my love for YORHealth. I started the challenge to improve my fitness but ended up improving my sleep and energy levels along with changing all my cleaning, skin and beauty products into natural alternatives.. As you can tell, I’ve probably become a little obsessed with the oils ;)
I’m so appreciative of the support I received throughout the challenge and I love everything about YORHealth. Its health philosophy, its quality, its culture. Theres nothing not to love about them. And I know its a little cheesy but through YOR I found love. :)
