My Best Body 8-Week Challenge was not just a fitness challenge for me, but a mental mind game as well. As many of my close friends may know, my father was diagnosed with brain cancer last year and had a serious stroke back in April. This has taken a heavy toll on my family and myself. Fortunately, my family is very much united when it comes to such events, we have banded together to transform one of the darkest chapters in our lives into a positive and uplifting one.
The effect it has had on me was lack of motivation especially for my workouts and diet. (in my before picture I had not exercised for month and half!) For me, as a personal trainer and nutrition consultant, to not workout and eat junk is a big deal since I am so used to being very disciplined. The other factor was that I had a serious back injury that acted as the trigger to my lack of motivation and depression. I literally could not exercise or make any sudden movements without being in excruciating pain!
I use to never understand why people would not workout after stopping for so long, but I definitely understand now!! Once momentum is lost, it takes an enormous amount of energy and and motivation to get started again.
After finishing 2 bottles of Repair Ultra every three days and a strict and consistent intake of the YOR Health Product line, I was finally able to get back to working out and eating clean. It then hit me that this was an excellent opportunity to join the challenge and get back on my feet.
I have developed my own fitness program called INFINITE. INFINITE is an 8-week Fitness and Nutrition Program that guides mind & body towards success with your personal health & fitness goals! I saw this challenge cycle as a way to test it out on myself. The way it works is through a concept called “muscular transformation”.
The key principles to muscular transformation are as follows:
- Short, intense workouts
- Proper nutrition regimen
- Quality supplementation
- Healthy sleep patterns
It is the idea that by first focusing on stamina & endurance training (4 wks) then moving on to strength & power training (4 wks) all the while maintaining a consistent, healthy diet and filling the gaps of that diet with high quality supplementation, that the average person will rapidly reach their health goals and develop a new, healthier lifestyle!
I found that my program was a success and can be seen to be a proven system, not just from my after photos but the fact that I can run faster, jump higher, lift heavier, etc. It enhanced my capabilities, by starting with my mindset and will. I even was able to surpass my goal of 170 lbs of lean muscle with 8% body fat to 172 lbs!
I have to give a large credit to YOR Health since the products are the supplements that I use and recommend with my program for optimal results! If I were to win this challenge cycle I would give back to the team and family especially my father and his current therapy and rehab. That way everyone can have a surplus of products to reach their goals!
So in conclusion, this challenge was not just a challenge to get into shape, but a challenge for me to get back on my feet after falling so far. I was able to get into the best shape of my life, develop one of the best fitness programs on the market, run and finish a Spartan Race! Also, and most important of all, I now have the ability and the confidence to show others exactly what I did. I hope that others will learn from my story and strive towards their physical excellence and inspire many others to join them in doing the same that they did!
