I have had problems with my weight for as long as I can remember. I have tried so many diets and lost weight only to put it all back on again and then more. In 2011 I decided to have lap band surgery as I wasn’t even able to lose weight on my own anymore. I ended up losing around 30 kilos but I was constantly sick, I couldn’t keep anything down and had indigestion all the time. So I survived on chips and chocolate as they were the only foods I could eat without being sick. I still have my band but currently, have no “fill” in it so there is no restriction. Even so, there are still foods like rice and pasta that I just can’t eat. My friend Carmen, who has been a consultant for Yor Health for a few years, suggested I try the intermittent fasting. I declined a few times as I didn’t think I would be able to do it. I start work at 5 am every morning so I thought there is no way I could not eat until midday. But I have and I actually love it. I’m taking a probiotic when I wake up, my greens and a berry blast mid-morning and then I have lunch around 12. Since being on the program I have not only lost weight, but I feel so much better and my skin looks and feels 100%. My husband is doing it too so we are both seeing great results, we don’t eat take away as often so my kids are benefiting too. My way of thinking has also changed which is the biggest and most important change for me. I know if I want to have some chocolate or chips that I can but I will only have a little bit. I haven’t had any chocolate for over 8 weeks now and anyone who knows me knows that that is massive for me. I could eat a block of chocolate every day and still want more so this has truly been wonderful for me. Carmen is a great support and I really can’t thank her and Yor Health enough for getting me started. I will continue doing this until Xmas and my goal is to lose 42 kilos altogether. I might even keep doing these 8-week challenges because I’ve really enjoyed it. Thanks so much
