There was a time in my life when I never worried about my weight. I was very active with work, hunting, motorcycles, four wheeling etc. I never sat still long enough to gain any access weight.
I got married 24 years ago, I have 4 beautiful daughters and I know while the girls were small I did stay active running around with them but somewhere along the line I did slow down and the metabolism slowed down as well. Don't get me wrong I still work, hunt, ride motorcycles and go four wheeling just not like I did 20-25 years ago.
I'm thinking about 10 years ago I really started noticing a difference in my health (my knees, my back, and my weight) and just like everybody else I would start some diet plan for a few weeks lose a few pounds and then forget about it and gain all the weight back with a couple of new pounds.
I had actually decided I was going to start a diet plan and get rid of some of the access weight about 9 weeks ago and then my daughter (Jessica) talked me into joining the challenge for 8 weeks. There were times when the challenge was definitely a challenge because I was used to waking up in the middle of the night and having me some ice-cream, cookies or at least a candy-bar but I didn't do it (not even once) and now I have no desire to wake up and eat any of those things.
I started the challenge at 237 and today I weigh 207. I started each day with 1 vitamin, 1 Repair and I drank an MRP (CHOCOLATE is my favorite) for a mid morning snack I would have either a hand full of nuts or a piece of fruit and 1 vitamin. For lunch I usually had a pretty good size mixed green salad. In the evening I would have 4 to 6 ounces of lean meat with a vegetable, 1 vitamin and 1 repair... There were a few times if I had dinner early enough I would have another MRP in the evening and I know that helped me get over my sweet tooth a few nights in the beginning. Throughout the day I drank 8 to 10 8oz. glasses of water (sometimes more) and I walked 1 to 3 miles everyday at work during my breaks.
This 8 week challenge has really changed my life, I don't want to stop taking the vitamins, repair or drinking the MRP's and I feel great eating the foods I've been eating so the challenge has turned into my new way of life... I feel great and I want to continue this lifestyle
