For me, weight loss and toning didn't come down to just looking good. Because I was born with Spina Bifida, no hip sockets and terrible scoliosis, it became imperative that I stay in shape for as long as possible. If I were too heavy or too weak, I wouldn't be able to get around or my mobility wouldn't be possible as I got up in years. When I got out of high school and made my way through college, I knew it was time to change my ways and my eating habits.
Starting the YOR 8-Week Challenge was a way for me to further push myself. I had already lost over 50 lbs over my four years away from home but it wasn't enough. I needed to be stronger and leaner on my own. I didn't want to have to rely on family and friends if something happened to me.
My starting weight for the Challenge was 100 lbs. My goal? 90 lbs. My real goal, however, was to drop fat weight and gain muscle. That's everyone's goal, right? Standing at 4'9, the lower I got, the better. My shoulders would need all the help I could get. I started with the Best Body Pack, taking a Vanilla MRP, Fiber and Supergreens every morning. Two Complete Burns and my morning pills were also taken, getting me ready for the gym. After working out for an hour each day, I'd take another MRP shake and then have a light dinner. This was my pattern throughout the entire challenge. The digest pills were fantastic for when I went out and knew that I couldn't control my meals quite as easily. Most meals out did, however, consist of lots of salmon and salads. Carbs were cut down to almost nothing.
While I may want to push myself even more now that the Challenge is over, I am thrilled with my results. I feel better about myself. I'm more confident, happier and I know that I've done something that will just continue to impact my life in a positive way. I've changed my lifestyle and I look forward to continue changing it as more challenges come my way. It's about pushing forward and working to achieve every goal... to surpass every goal.
